Key Points
ACRA's checklist covers Corppass, required company registers, applicable controller and nominee filings, and licence checks. A company secretary must be appointed within six months, and an auditor within three months unless an exemption applies. The free Business Profile is available for download for 60 days.
Planning Your Next Steps
A corporate bank account helps separate company transactions from personal spending. Before hiring or commencing relevant activities, address CPF, employment, data protection and tax requirements. Keep the company's own registers and central filings aligned; one does not automatically replace the other. A practical handover should identify responsible people and filing dates instead of ending when the incorporation notice arrives.
Build a Post-Incorporation Work Plan
Arrange government-service access alongside the company records. ACRA says a Corppass application can be made one day after receiving the UEN. Decide who will administer that access and who will handle each filing. Recording those responsibilities is practical handover advice; it does not transfer the company officers’ legal duties to an administrator.
Separate permission to exist as a company from permission to conduct a regulated activity. Use the GoBusiness Licence e-Advisers to check relevant business licences before operations begin. Importers and exporters moving goods across Singapore’s borders also need to consider the Customs account and trade-permit route. Incorporation approval alone does not settle those activity-specific requirements.
Before hiring, check the CPF Submission Number needed for monthly CPF payments and the applicable employment rules. Also arrange the organisation’s Data Protection Officer: ACRA’s checklist identifies appointment of a DPO as a requirement. These checks concern operating responsibilities and should sit alongside the secretary, auditor and register deadlines already described above.
Keep optional services in a separate part of the checklist. For example, trade mark registration is presented as an optional business service, whereas relevant licences and officer appointments are compliance matters. Use ACRA’s post-registration checklist ↗ to distinguish those categories when agreeing the scope and timetable of professional support.
