Choose the Closest Occupation
Use the standard list for the Occupations field in the manual Singapore EP form. Choose the closest match to the candidate’s actual occupation. The page states its interactive tool is being updated and instead links the updated A–I, J–R and S–Z lists. Each linked list is a separate document, not additional content already displayed on this short page.
Search the List Against the Actual Job Description
Each downloadable alphabetical list explains that occupations are updated periodically and are also available in EP eService. You can search a PDF with Ctrl+F or search the Occupation dropdown in the application. Start with the part of the alphabet containing the occupation description, and try the core function if the company's internal title does not appear. MOM's stated fallback is the occupation closest to the applicant's job description.
As a practical check, compare the proposed selection with the actual duties, rather than selecting a more senior-sounding label. The A–I list, for example, separates accountant excluding tax accountant, accounting analyst excluding tax, and several accounting-manager descriptions. The S–Z list includes distinct sales director, sales manager and online sales manager entries. These examples show why a broad internal title should be checked against the available descriptions; they do not determine which category any particular applicant must use.
Record the selected description alongside the job description for the person submitting the form. If the live dropdown differs from an older saved PDF, consult the current official list rather than assuming the saved wording remains available. This is an organising suggestion. The list is an occupation-selection aid, not an approval decision or a substitute for checking Employment Pass eligibility.
