Eligibility and Validity
Hold an ICA-issued LTVP/LTVP+ and be the spouse or unmarried child below 21 of a Singapore citizen or permanent resident. A job offer is not required before applying for PLOC.
Validity is tied to the ICA LTVP/LTVP+, and the PLOC ceases to be valid if that pass expires or is cancelled. Renew a nearly expiring residence pass before applying.
Applying with ICA or Requesting Later
Eligible people can opt for PLOC when applying for or renewing their ICA LTVP/LTVP+. If they did not opt in then, the LTVP sponsor or holder can submit a request two days after receiving the LTVP card.
Each application is assessed on its merits, with the outcome emailed within a week. Check the junk folder if it is absent from the inbox.
Renewal, Stopping Work and Unsuccessful Applications
Renew the LTVP/LTVP+ with ICA at least three months before expiry; the PLOC may be renewed with it.
Stopping work does not require cancelling PLOC. Choose not to request it at the next residence-pass renewal. If PLOC is unsuccessful but employment is still sought, a prospective employer may apply for LOC.
