Key Points
ACRA provides a 60-day extension application costing S$200. It advises filing at least 14 working days before the AGM deadline; the online route is unavailable once that date passes. Prepare the FYE, reasons and supporting letters or audit correspondence. Update an incorrect FYE first. A further extension requires strong reasons and is not routinely granted.
Select the Obligation That Needs More Time
Only a company required to hold an AGM can apply for this AGM extension through Bizfile. Confirm the company dashboard and recorded financial year end first; an incorrect financial year end should be updated before applying. Under the extension service, indicate whether the request concerns the AGM, annual return or both. The availability of those choices does not mean that an AGM-only application automatically changes the return deadline. A director, company secretary or engaged corporate service provider may file, using the company’s UEN and a reason tied to its actual circumstances.
Separate Submission Confirmation from Approval
Upload the relevant PDF evidence, such as the director’s explanation, auditor-change correspondence, expected audit completion date or SGX comments. Follow the current guide’s filename instructions when preparing attachments. Review the selected obligation and information before paying the non-refundable S$200 fee. ACRA lists up to 14 working days for processing, although some cases take longer. The Bizfile inbox first confirms successful application submission and later provides the approval notification. Keep both records, and assess any further-extension need before the current due date; strong reasons are required and a further application is not routinely granted.
