Dependant’s Pass Eligibility: Sponsor Salary and Family Relationships

The sponsor’s three requirements, eligible family relationships and the overseas intra-corporate transferee restriction.

Source reviewed: 2026-10-12

Three Requirements for the Main Pass Holder

The main holder must have a Singapore EP or S Pass, earn at least S$6,000 in fixed monthly salary, and be sponsored by an established Singapore-registered company, normally their employer. All three conditions apply.

The salary test uses the main holder’s own fixed monthly salary, not combined household earnings. ONE Pass and EntrePass dependants follow their respective family eligibility requirements.

Eligible Family Relationships

Eligible relatives are a legally married spouse and unmarried children below 21, including legally adopted children.

Other relatives may be considered for a Long-Term Visit Pass, subject to that route’s separate requirements.

Overseas ICT Restriction

Family members of Singapore EP holders applying as overseas ICTs under WTO GATS or an applicable free-trade agreement are generally ineligible for DP or LTVP. An exception must be specifically covered by an applicable agreement and satisfy the prevailing consideration criteria.

Match the Family Relationship to the Documents

After checking the sponsor's three conditions, prepare evidence for each relative separately. MOM's document checklist includes the applicant's passport particulars page and relationship evidence: a marriage certificate for a spouse, a birth certificate naming the parents for a child, or an adoption order or other relevant documents for a legally adopted child. This is not the full application checklist; check the official page for additional requirements relevant to the individual family member.

For a document in another language, MOM requires the original and an English translation together in one uploaded file. As a practical preparation step, compare names and relationship details across the passport and certificates before arranging the upload. Investigate differences rather than assuming that a similar name establishes the relationship.

Check a Different Route for Other Relatives

Do not assume every dependant uses a DP. MOM's LTVP eligibility rules separately address common-law spouses, unmarried stepchildren under 21, unmarried children aged 21 and above with disabilities, and parents. Sponsoring parents requires at least S$12,000 in the main holder's fixed monthly salary. Other conditions and the overseas ICT restriction still need checking; meeting a salary amount alone does not settle the family application.
