When and Who
Cancel within one week of closing the business; closing on 3 February means cancel by 10 February. The holder, company representative or EA can cancel immediately. PR conversion or expiry needs no cancellation, but an expired holder remaining in Singapore must obtain lawful stay.
Tax, Family and Temporary Stay
Fulfil tax obligations and seek IRAS clearance at least a month before closure. Cancellation also ends related family passes, without reinstatement. Use Singapore EP eService on myMOM; if remaining in Singapore request STVP through it, up to 90 days from application. Receive it by email and show it with valid passport on exit. Cut and discard the pass card.
Coordinate Closure, Family Passes and Departure Dates
As a practical closure plan, list the intended business closure date, the tax-clearance action required by MOM's guidance and the cancellation deadline. The tax step is to be addressed at least one month before closure; the pass cancellation is due within one week after closure. These are different dates. Do not wait for the one-week cancellation window before beginning all closure preparations, or assume a company-registration transaction itself cancels an MOM pass.
Identify every family pass linked to the EntrePass before confirming cancellation. MOM says all related family passes are cancelled with the main pass and cannot be reinstated. Check the stay and departure arrangements for each affected person as part of the plan. A pass holder becoming a Singapore permanent resident, or a pass that has already expired, follows the stated no-cancellation exception; expiry does not itself supply continued lawful stay.
If still in Singapore after cancellation, request STVP through the cancellation service and read the validity actually granted in the email. The stated period is up to ninety days from application, rather than a guaranteed ninety-day extension. Keep the emailed STVP and valid passport ready for departure. EntrePass approval and business registration or licensing are separate matters in MOM's application guidance; closing the business should likewise not be treated as completing every immigration action automatically.
