Cost, Processing and Starting Work
The employer or appointed EA applies free of charge. Processing is one week, with some cases taking longer. Selected professions need additional documents. Work starts only after the employer receives LOC.
Submission
Obtain the candidate’s written consent, then complete the application and upload documents through Singapore EP eService in myMOM. Update the organisation’s preceding three years of turnover before submission.
Check status after one week. If pending, look for a document-request email. Select the record under Work Passes, then Submit documents or View details for the action required. Further information may extend processing; approval is emailed.
Identify Profession-Specific Supporting Documents
Check whether the proposed occupation needs documents beyond the general LOC submission. For a regional representative of an overseas company, MOM asks for the Enterprise Singapore approval letter establishing the representative office. It also requires a headquarters letter stating the application purpose, assignment duration, and a guarantee for the candidate's maintenance and repatriation. A general employer job-offer letter does not describe all of those listed items.
For employees in a food establishment, provide the online licence page reached by scanning the Singapore Food Agency foodshop licence QR code; it should show the licence validity period. A new establishment without the licence can instead submit the SFA Application for Foodshop Licence letter. For selected regulated professions and football players or coaches, check MOM's table for the relevant professional body's supporting documents. These requirements depend on the profession rather than applying to every LOC applicant.
Where those documents are not in English, submit the original together with an English translation. MOM can still ask for further evidence during review. As practical preparation, make the profession-specific document check before the employer obtains written consent, updates turnover information and submits the application. Keep the document request and the application record together so any follow-up can be answered through the indicated service. This checklist is advice, not an additional compulsory MOM form.
