Eligibility and Consequences
Applicants must be at least 21, of sound mind and already hold another citizenship. Outstanding NS obligations may lead to rejection for a male citizen who has enjoyed citizenship privileges. Read the renunciation-implications and applicable NS advisory before signing.
Prepare Uploads and Originals
Upload certified foreign-citizenship evidence, available valid foreign passport and relevant name-change evidence. Complete the notarised statutory declaration, implications acknowledgement and male-applicant MINDEF acknowledgement. ICA must receive the original forms and relevant Singapore IC, valid passport and citizenship certificate before processing. Use registered post through a mission or the specified ICA office and retain tracking evidence.
Online Application, Fee and Time
Use the with-Singpass or without-Singpass portal. The form takes around 30 minutes and has no save function, so prepare the full file first. Fee: S$35 online. General processing is about three months after all required documents are received; a chosen cooling-off period or further review can make it longer.
