Match the Change to the Foreign-Company Filing

Identify the event before choosing the transaction. A head-office name change requires a name application followed by an entity-information update after approval. Other entity updates cover office address or hours, business activity, legal structure in the home jurisdiction, and the location of the branch register of members. Keep those events separate from an individual director’s or authorised representative’s personal-detail changes.

For amended constitutional documents, prepare the charter, statute, memorandum or articles that actually changed. ACRA requires the supporting documents to be notarised or certified as true copies by a notary public. Non-English documents need certified English translations. For translations made abroad, certification can come from the home-country registrar’s equivalent official, a notary public or sworn translator there, or a Singapore consular officer there. Translations made in Singapore require certification by a person approved by ACRA; an informal translation is not the stated requirement.

For appointments or withdrawals, prepare the person’s identification, nationality, birth date, position, relevant dates and contact information. A change of name requires a deed poll. The public contact address must be in the same country as the residential address and cannot be a P.O. Box. The applicable updates must be reported within 30 days. As practical preparation, keep an event-by-event list of effective dates, documents and the person arranging each filing rather than combining unrelated changes into one unverified deadline.
