Key Points
Bizfile shows approaching or overdue filing alerts automatically. ACRA also sends emails one month before company annual-return and LLP declaration deadlines to registered position-holder addresses, unless filing is already completed. Keep contact details current and check spam folders. ACRA states that it does not request personal information or login credentials through these alerts. Other statutory duties should be checked separately.
Set Up the Right Reminder Route
Check the registered email address of each relevant position holder in Bizfile under My Profile. An appointment across several entities does not produce one combined filing notice: ACRA sends one email for each entity. A corporate service provider should switch into the client’s entity profile to see that entity’s approaching or overdue alerts. As a practical control, record who will review each alert and who will submit the return or declaration, so that receiving a message is not mistaken for completing the filing.
Act on the Filing Status, Not Just the Email
No reminder email is sent if the filing was completed before the notification was generated. Conversely, an absent email does not establish that there is no obligation: check spam folders and the automatic Bizfile alerts. The Pending Your Action tab is the separate place to review other statutory filing matters; the reminder scheme covers annual returns and annual declarations only. If a deadline has already passed, ACRA says to file immediately and pay the applicable penalties. Authenticate a message by checking its official ACRA or gov.sg sender domain, rather than supplying login credentials in response to the message.
