Correcting a Share Transaction Error

Correct the original transaction that introduced the error.

Source checked · 18 October 2026

Key Points

Use the share NOE service for clerical mistakes or qualifying unintended errors. Identify the original allotment, transfer or other share filing rather than an annual return that merely repeated its data. Prepare the correction and supporting explanation; redact or mask personal details in the written application and supporting documents that may become public. ACRA lists S$60, with review generally taking 15 working days or up to 30 where data changes are required.

Retrieve the Filing That Introduced the Error

Search using the transaction number or a date range, then select the share transaction in which the incorrect information was originally filed. An annual return that later displayed the same information is not necessarily the transaction to correct. Choose between a clerical or typographical correction and an application to the Registrar for another unintended error. The latter requires justification that rectification will not prejudice anyone. Historical share transactions, revised financial statements and other filing errors have separate linked routes, so identify the transaction type before preparing the application.

Explain the Effect on Current Share Information

Describe the incorrect entry, the correct information, why the error occurred and why rectification is necessary. Indicate whether the correction affects current capital or shareholdings; the service provides fields for capital changes and for adding or updating shareholders and share classes. Omit or mask personal details such as dates of birth, mobile numbers and residential addresses in the written application and supporting documents, which may become publicly accessible. ACRA cautions that system data may change before final approval, so an updated screen alone is not evidence that the application has been approved. Monitor My Transactions; the stated processing periods are 15 working days, or up to 30 working days where data changes are required.
