Prepare an AGM-Specific Extension Request
Use the VCC’s financial year end and current AGM due date to determine whether the application can still be made. ACRA recommends applying at least 14 working days before the deadline; the route is unavailable after the due date has passed. A VCC officer, such as a director or secretary, can apply, or the VCC can engage a corporate service provider. In VCC eServices, navigate to Annual filing and Extension of time for AR/AGM, retrieve the VCC and select Annual general meeting. This avoids submitting an annual-return request when the meeting is the obligation that needs more time.
Support the Requested Delay with Documents
Include the reason for extension and relevant director or auditor correspondence. Where auditors changed between financial year end and the filing due date, explain that change; an auditor’s explanation should indicate the delay and expected completion. Include relevant SGX comments where applicable. These are practical ways to connect the request to the VCC’s actual timetable, rather than simply asking for the maximum period. The non-refundable S$200 application fee remains payable if the request is rejected or withdrawn.
